Fans of Percy Jackson, the fantasy adventure book series, will be happy to learn that Season 3 has wrapped production and is scheduled to release later this year.
The news on the latest series production wrap was revealed on X via a post on the series handle, which showed actor Walker Scobell sitting on an ancient stone throne displaying a white paper with the inscription, “It’s a wrap”.
The third season is an adaptation of Book 3 ‘Percy Jackson and The Titan’s Curse’, and will see the titular protagonist and his allies undertake a dangerous quest to rescue Annabeth Chase and the Greek goddess of hunting Artemis, from the titan, Atlas.
Scobell had hinted earlier in an interview with The Direct that this third season is “the most book-accurate season (they’ve) had yet”.
Although no release date has been announced, it is expected that the third season will follow the lead of the previous two seasons, both of which premiered in early December. And James Bobin is confirmed to have directed the first two episodes of Season 3.
The show is co-created by the Percy Jackson series author, Rick Riordan, and Jonathan E. Steinberg. It is written and executive produced by Albert Kim, and stars Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Adam Copeland as Ares, and Toby Stephens as Poseidon, among others.
