In a tense encounter at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Saturday, Wikki Tourists and Barau FC played to a goalless draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 31 clash.

Both teams entered the match with contrasting fortunes—Barau FC, the league newcomer, aimed to strengthen their mid-table position while Wikki Tourists sought crucial points to avoid relegation. Despite the stakes, neither side could find the back of the net, resulting in a stalemate that leaves Wikki Tourists precariously positioned just above the relegation zone.

The first half saw limited opportunities for both sides, with Barau FC managing to maintain possession but failing to convert their chances into goals. Wikki Tourists, battling to escape relegation, looked to capitalize on any defensive lapses but were met with a resolute Barau defense.

As the match progressed into the second half, both teams pushed for a breakthrough. However, despite several attempts, including close-range efforts from Wikki’s forwards and a few speculative shots from Barau, the goalkeepers remained untested, and the match ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw.

With this result, Barau FC remains in 8th place with 44 points, comfortably mid-table but with aspirations for better positioning. Wikki Tourists, on the other hand, sits 17th with 36 points, still in a precarious spot as they continue their battle against relegation with just a few matches left in the season.
