The Presidency has taken a swipe at leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), urging them to stop blaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their internal crisis and instead take responsibility for their actions.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, said the situation facing the opposition party was self-inflicted and could have been avoided with proper due diligence and better internal management.

Ajayi, in a post on his X handle on Friday , said he views individuals and groups who refuse to take responsibility for their errors and poor judgment in a certain light, stressing that such conduct reflects a failure of leadership.

According to him, members of the African Democratic Congress should understand that neither President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nor the APC was responsible for the legal challenges confronting the party.

“ADC people should know that it was not President Tinubu and the APC government that went to court. Simple due diligence and better management of internal issues would have averted this mess,” he said.

Ajayi accused the party’s leaders of failing to properly manage their internal affairs, noting that instead of accepting responsibility, they have resorted to blaming multiple actors.

He said ADC leaders have continued to blame the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Amupitan, President Tinubu, the APC, and others for the crisis.

The presidential aide insisted that the party’s challenges were a direct result of its inability to resolve internal disputes, adding that shifting blame would not address the underlying issues.

He urged the ADC leadership to focus on fixing its internal problems rather than engaging in what he described as unwarranted accusations against the government.
