Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has declared that the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) will never secure a single term in Kano State governorship.
The governor made the remarks on Saturday while addressing a large crowd of supporters at the Government House, Kano, following his return to the State Abuja, where he attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention i and the party’s Northwest Zonal Congress held in Kaduna.
Referring to a common slogan among the political class in Kano calling him a ‘One-term Governor’ following a viral song by a Kwankwasiyya praise singer, Governor Yusuf said, “There was only one term in the NNPP, and we will go for a second term in the APC. As for the ADC, which they moved to, it will never have even a single term”
“Kano and Nigeria are solidly behind APC, and APC is the only winning party. Nigerians and indeed Kano people should not be carried away by the euphoria of so-called ADC and other parties,” he added.
Governor Yusuf also reaffirmed Kano State’s support for President Bola Tinubu, pledging the state’s backing for his re-election bid in 2027.
“We in Kano State are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election in 2027 by the grace of Allah,” he said.
The governor hailed the APC as the dominant political platform capable of winning elections at all levels in Kano State and across Nigeria. He congratulated party members for thr successful outcomes during the zonal congress and national convention and promised that his administration would continue prioritising infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment.
Governor Yusuf’s arrival at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on Saturday was met with a rousing reception as supporters lined up along major roads in Kano metropolis, chanting APC slogans and cheering his convoy up to the Government House.
