The Ladies of Victory International (LOVI) Fellowship has called for renewed commitment, sincerity and unity of purpose, as well as the demonstration of love and support among women, aimed at contributing their quota to national development.

They also urged women to eat healthily and avail themselves of early medical checks and detection to avoid life-threatening diseases, while demanding an end to the insecurity ravaging the country.

The international president of LOVI Sisters, Dr Helen Azukaego Okechukwu, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, reiterating the efforts of the organisation in advancing the cause of women and children, especially with regard to their health and wellbeing.

Okechukwu expressed deep concern over the alarming rate of violent crimes, including recurrent attacks in Plateau State, kidnappings along the Kogi axis, and continued killings in Benue and Kwara states, where women are mostly affected.

The statement strongly condemned the persistent attacks, killings and rising insecurity across parts of the northern region of the country, and called on the Federal Government, through its security agencies, to adopt proactive and intelligence-driven strategies to address these challenges.

“We urged the swift arrest and diligent prosecution of all perpetrators to ensure justice and deter future occurrences,” it stated.

In addition, LOVI called on the federal government to adequately equip security agencies with modern tools and technology, while enhancing intelligence gathering to prevent further attacks on communities.

She further urged women across the country to actively participate in politics by building strong synergy and support systems for one another, as well as contesting elective positions.

The group also reiterated its commitment to advocating increased representation of women, including the push for special seats for women in legislative bodies.
