Afropop superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has cautioned celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest against getting involved in the ongoing social media war between Wizkid and Burna Boy.
The friction between the two musicians reached a fever pitch following an incident at a Lagos nightclub involving Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez. The situation worsened when Burna Boy mocked the DJ in a viral video, prompting Wizkid to fire back with several personal insults.
In a move that drew Davido’s attention, Cubana Chief Priest took to social media to joke about the “towel and oil” references used during the exchange, seemingly enjoying the drama. However, the “Unavailable” singer was quick to intervene, urging his close friend to distance himself from the controversy.
“CP free this matter biko,” Davido wrote in a now-deleted comment, signalling his desire to keep his circle away from the heated industry beef.
As of the time of this report, the tension between the camps shows no signs of cooling down, with the Nigerian DJ Association already taking sides by reportedly banning Burna Boy’s music from their playlists.
