Tears as former Konshisha Local Government council chairman, Moses Shirsha, who died four days after the passing of his wife, Mercy Mngu Shirsha were all buried on Friday at their family compound in Shirsha Adeega Village, Mbaasuku, Mbator Gaav, in Benue state.
The late Shirsha passed on while he was making burial arrangements for his late wife.
Mourners, sympathisers who attended the burial prayed for the repose of their souls.
Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom’s media aide, Terver Akase, an indigene of the area who also attended the burial said the community confronted with deep sorrow as their illustrious sons were laid to rest.
Akase who posted in his verified facebook page after the funeral said, “One of the most painful moments any family or community can endure is the heartbreaking task of burying a husband and wife on the same day.
“Today, we in Mbator, Mbatsen in Konshisha were confronted with that deep sorrow, as one of our illustrious sons, Hon. Moses Iorhen Shirsha, and his beloved wife, Hon. Mercy Mngusonun Shirsha, were laid to rest. The grief is heavy and the loss immeasurable”
Akase added, “Hon. Shirsha, the first Students’ Union President of Benue State University, also a former Council Chairman of Konshisha Local Government, and his wife Mngu, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor.
Together in life, and now laid side by side in death.
May God, in His infinite mercy, comfort the entire Shirsha Adeega family and grant the souls of the departed eternal rest” he said.
