Australian actress and film producer Cate Blanchett, 56, is preparing to play Martha Stewart in a soon-to-be-released biopic. The documentary will be managed by director Janicza Bravo, according to Variety.
The writer and television host Stewart, who is 84, told the media in an interview about the biopic during the gala screening of a documentary titled Brunello: The Gracious Visionary. She noted that she was “hearing rumours” that a biopic was being planned with Blanchett in the lead role.
The lifestyle mogul also disclosed that the working title is Good Thing, a reference to her signature motto, “It’s a good thing.”
Blanchett’s representative is yet to comment on the topic.
Blanchett has received several honorary awards. In 2018, she was recognised among the world’s highest-paid actresses. She has also been nominated for several Academy Awards, winning two. One for Best Supporting Actress in 2004 for the movie ‘The Aviator’, at the 77th Academy Awards and the other for Best Actress, ‘Blue Jasmine’ at the 86th Academy Awards in 2013.
