Old Anniversary Post Resurfaces as Churchill Denies Ever Marrying Rosy Meurer

Nigerians on social media have revived an old anniversary post from businessman Olakunle Churchill celebrating eight years with actress Rosy Meurer after his recent claim that they were never legally married.

Churchill had earlier stated that there was no reason for Rosy to file a notice of dissolution of their union, since, according to him, no legal marriage ever existed. He also brushed aside claims that Rosy stood firmly by him during his public fallout with ex-wife, actress Tonto Dikeh, over the custody battle involving their son, King Andre.

According to him, anyone could have supported him during that period if Rosy had not been in his life.

Following his remarks, online users quickly dug up an old loved-up post where Churchill was seen celebrating what was described as their “8th wedding anniversary” with Rosy.

The post read, “@olakunlechurchill and @rosymeurer celebrate 8th wedding anniversary.”

The resurfaced post triggered mixed reactions online, with many questioning the contradiction.

One user joked, “They were celebrating 8 years of introduction, I guess. Baba say he no pay bride price.” Another wrote, “He meant to type. Happy 8th introductory anniversary.”

Others described the situation as unexpected, with one commenter admitting, “Didn’t have this in my 2026 bingo card at all.”
