The chairman of the Swimming Section at Ikoyi Club 1938, Mr Akinbulejo Onabolu, has confirmed that preparations are complete for the first leg of the Quomodo Inter-School Swimming League, scheduled for 9th May 2026.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mr Onabolu expressed confidence in the arrangements and assured participants of an exciting and memorable competition. This event marks the second edition of the series and will be held at the Ikoyi Club in Lagos.
“We have been working tirelessly to deliver a well-organised and engaging competition,” he stated. “As we approach 9th May, I am confident that all participants will have a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
“I also commend our sponsors, Quomodo, for their trust and support. Together, we are building a platform to nurture the next generation of swimming champions in Nigeria.”
The competition will feature all major swimming strokes – Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Individual Medley – with distances tailored to different age categories, ensuring fair and competitive racing for all participants.
Following the first leg, attention will shift to the second leg of the league, scheduled for 6th June 2026, at the same venue.
The Inter-School Swimming League is structured across three categories: Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels, providing a broad platform for young swimmers to compete and showcase their talents.
The event is expected to deliver a vibrant and competitive atmosphere across all categories.
