Murtala Sule Garo has been sworn in as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State, following a ceremony presided over by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The oath of office was administered on Garo by the Chief Judge of Kano State, Justice Dije Aboki.
Prominent political figures who witnessed the ceremony included former governor of Kano State and ex-national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; former governor Ibrahim Shekarau; and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
Also in attendance were the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.
LEADERSHIP reports Murtala Garo’s nomination for the position followed the resignation of erstwhile deputy governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo after Governor Yusuf’s defection to the APC.
