A  legal icon, Adebayo Oba Adelodun (SAN) has said Nigeria’s legal system has positively “evolved to the present enviable height.”

Adelodun spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State during the public presentation of a book, “Adebayo Oba Adelodun: A Life of Advocacy and Leadership at the Bar” put together by his friends and associates to mark his 20th anniversary at the inner bar.

He said that the nation’s legal system though might appear good enough for a sovereign nation, “there’s is reason and room for improvement.”

He said the system has evolved over the years, noting: “gone are the days when we were relying on foreign cases and laws to survive legal hurdles.

“We have become homegrown unlike when we had to rely on foreign cases and other instances to survive.

“Though, we are good, but there is always room for improvement because nothing is permanent,” he said.
