As Eid-el-Kabir celebration approaches, ram sellers in Kebbi State have lamented low patronage by residents.

Our Correspondent who visited some major Kara markets in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, yesterday, met sellers waiting for potential buyers.

All the markets visited had rams brought in from different parts of the state.

The rams were in different sizes.

Some sellers attributed the low patronage to worsening economic hardships among the people while others said it was due to the non-payment of the May salaries to civil servants.

Malam Hassan Yakubu from Bunza local government area lamented that till 2pm he did not sell even one of the 50 rams he brought to Kalgo Market.

“I came to this market from Dakingari with over 40 rams, unfortunately, no one approached me to even price them,” said another seller, Jabbi Dangwaggo

“Today is the last market day in area and next week it will be Sallah and I brought my rams to sell in Birnin Kebbi Market. I was only able to sell two from 25 rams,” Dangi Mohammed lamented.el Kabir.
