Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has attributed his support and endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 to a moral and development-driven action in the best interest of Osun and the Yoruba people at large.

The governor, who spoke through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in Osogbo, stated that Adeleke spoke after a brief check on the ongoing construction of the Ibadan-Ile-Ife-Ilesa Expressway on Sunday evening.

Rasheed said Adeleke described President Tinubu as “our own son, father and leader” who deserves our support beyond political considerations.

“I am the governor of the ancestral birthplace of Mr President. How can I have my own in the saddle and think twice before embracing him? I need no persuasion to do as I have repeatedly declared, our endorsement of Mr President.

“How many Governors are as lucky as I? Well, my brother, Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos state, will claim to be luckier. But we, in Osun state, count ourselves lucky and privileged to have one of our illustrious sons and fathers at the helm of affairs of Nigeria”, the governor noted.

Describing his decision as beyond partisan considerations, the governor reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu. The state expressed gratitude to Mr President for the ongoing construction of the Ilesa-Ile-Ife-Ibadan Expressway.

He noted that Tinubu has repeatedly advocated free and fair elections, adding that, as a government, they will deploy all lawful means to ensure free and fair elections on 15 August and beyond.
