President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, tolerance and patriotism as essential pillars for national growth and development.
Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, described Eid-el-Kabir as a deeply significant spiritual celebration that embodies obedience, sacrifice, compassion and unwavering faith in God.
In his Eid message, the tennis federation president stressed that the lessons of the season should inspire Nigerians to work collectively towards national unity, peaceful coexistence and sustainable progress.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir presents an opportunity for reflection on the values that strengthen society and foster harmony among diverse communities.
“Eid-el-Kabir offers us another opportunity as a people to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation,” Ochei stated.
He maintained that Nigeria’s quest for sustainable development and lasting prosperity can only be realised when citizens place national interest above personal or sectional considerations.
“Nigeria can only attain sustainable growth and meaningful development when citizens place national interest above personal considerations,” he added.
Ochei further called on Nigerians to promote tolerance, patriotism and social harmony at all levels, noting that peace and security remain indispensable foundations for economic advancement and social stability.
He emphasised that the spirit of unity and togetherness associated with the Eid celebrations should extend beyond the festive period, creating an environment where businesses can thrive, investments can flourish and young people can maximise their potential.
The NTF president also encouraged the Muslim Ummah to continue offering prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability and progress while urging leaders across the country to remain committed to policies and programmes that improve the welfare and living conditions of the people.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, let us renew our commitment to building a nation anchored on justice, peace, unity and shared prosperity. Together, we can create a safer, stronger and more economically vibrant Nigeria for future generations,” Ochei said.
He wished Muslim faithful a joyful, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
