The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the final 26-player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The roster, features captain Jordan Ayew alongside key stars such as Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Antoine Semenyo.

The team is composed of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and eight attackers—a well-rounded lineup designed to boost Ghana’s campaign on football’s biggest stage.

Between the posts, Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare earns a spot after impressing in the Ghana Premier League. He joins experienced shot-stoppers Lawrence Ati-Zigi (St. Gallen) and Joseph Anang (St. Patrick’s Athletic). Asare’s selection is expected to thrill local supporters, as he remains one of the few home-based players in the squad.

The defensive unit blends seasoned pros with emerging talent. Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, and Alidu Seidu anchor the backline, supported by Marvin Senaya, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Jonas Adjetey, Kojo Oppong Peprah, and Derrick Luckassen. Their collective experience and depth aim to shore up Ghana’s defensive record during the qualifiers.

In midfield, Thomas Partey takes center stage, expected to dictate the tempo. He is joined by Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye, Caleb Yirenkyi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, offering the coaching staff versatile options in both defensive and advanced roles.

The mix of young dynamos and seasoned internationals reflects a continued strategy to balance energy with know-how.
