An Air Peace evacuation flight carrying Nigerian citizens, including women and children, touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at approximately 10:35 a.m. today, June 11, following their repatriation from South Africa.

Top government officials were on the ground to receive the returnees, including the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), and the Commissioner for Migrants and Refugees.

The delegation assured returning citizens of immediate federal support and long-term reintegration assistance.

The federal government confirmed that the repatriation exercise will continue throughout the month, with further evacuation flights scheduled for June 15, June 18, June 22, and June 24, 2026.
