Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance and the Arewa Youth Assembly have cautioned Nigerians, especially the political class, against politicising the security challenges facing the nation.

While the Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance stressed that Nigeria’s security must never be politicised, the Arewa Youth Assembly said the situation is not a political game.

Speaking on the 27 years of democracy in the country, the convener  of Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, Collins Eshiofeh, said the service chiefs must never be made pawns in partisan games, hence  every Nigerian, regardless of political affiliation, must stand firmly behind them to keep the nation alive.

Eshiofeh commended President Bola Tinubu for his consistent and robust support for the nation’s military and security agencies, saying under the Renewed Hope Agenda, he had ensured that the armed forces are equipped, empowered and encouraged to do their work.

He also acknowledged the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), for providing the political and administrative bridge between civilian governance and military operations.

On the other hand, the deputy speaker(North Central) of Arewa Youth Assembly, Mohammed Saad Aboki, said security is a sacred national responsibility, and every Nigerian must rally behind the men and women who carry that responsibility every single day.

Aboki said the 27 years of uninterrupted democracy is not an accident but the fruit of sacrifice, vigilance, and the courage of those who have stood guard over this republic.
