Yeni Kuti Reacts To CEO Luminee’s Baby Announcement With Baba Ijesha

British-born Nigerian singer and dancer Omoyeni “Yeni” Anikulapo Kuti, also known as ‘YK’, has reacted to reports that fashion designer CEO Luminee welcomed a baby with Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha.

The announcement, made on June 15, sparked mixed reactions online. Many social media users revisited the actor’s past legal issues and discussed the timing of the development.

Speaking on TVC Entertainment, Yeni Kuti dismissed the criticism and voiced her support for CEO Luminee.

She said she knows the designer personally and revealed that CEO Luminee made the outfit she wore for her 60th birthday celebration.

She said:

“I see nothing wrong with it. I actually know her; she made my 60th dress for my birthday.”

Yeni Kuti also spoke about the case involving Baba Ijesha. She noted that although the actor served a jail term, he continued to deny the offence after his release.

According to her, that stance may have influenced CEO Luminee’s decision to support him.

“After the guy was jailed, he still came out and denied the offence. So he might have denied it to Luminee, and she believed him, and she is entitled to believe him if she wants,” she added.

Her comments highlighted the challenges that arise when personal relationships enter public debate.

While news of the baby sparked mixed reactions, Yeni Kuti maintained that CEO Luminee has the freedom to decide who she trusts and chooses to stand by.
