The senior adviser and counselor to Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, has said that local government autonomy is hundred percent effective under the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
He said the governor’s stance on the council autonomy was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Salahu spoke yesterday in Ilorin, the state capital, when the people of Ayegbami community, Dada, Okelele, Ilorin paid him a thank- you visit over the repair of their vandalised electricity transformer.
The repair of the transformer was funded by the Ilorin East local government administration.
Salahu said that the kind gesture of the Ilorin East Council showed that the local government administration in Kwara State has been very effective under the administrations of President Bola Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
He praised the governor for implementing full local government autonomy resuscitating the hitherto moribund local government administration in the state by granting the councils’ helmsmen free hands to operate.
Salahu noted that dividends of democracy are being felt at the grassroots in all parts of the local government .
“In Ibagun Ward in particular ,Ilorin East local government has remodeled the Upper Area Court Complex in Akerebiata, along Sobi Army Barrack road, Ilorin, donated a transformer to Igbawere community, constructed drainage and graded Abata Jagun, Sorafaja/ Al- Nur road ; repaired boreholes at Olaoparun, Omitopo , Dada, Alawo- Nla areas and Kankatu Market which was equally remodeled after a rainstorm , not long ago,” Salahu added.
Earlier, the chairman of Ayegbami Community Development Association, Imam Daud Alata, had requested Salahu to express the profound gratitude of the people of the community to the Ilorin East local government chairman, Hon. Lukman Agbelere.
