Gov Yusuf Celebrates Winners Of Ganduje Foundation Qur’anic Recitation

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Sunday urged participants in the Ganduje Foundation Inter-Local Government Qur’anic Recitation Competition to remain committed to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, saying the essence of the competition extends beyond winning trophies.

Represented by his deputy, Murtala Garo, at the grand finale of the five-day competition held at the Ammani Event Centre in Kano, the governor congratulated the winners while encouraging other contestants not to be discouraged.

He said every participant deserved recognition for demonstrating commitment to the study of the Qur’an.

“You should not be demoralised. This competition should inspire you to strengthen your dedication and commitment to the Holy Qur’an,” Yusuf said through his deputy.

He stressed that the ultimate reward for participants was not victory in the competition but living by the teachings of the Qur’an.

The governor urged the contestants to be worthy ambassadors of Islam by exhibiting honesty, loyalty and good character wherever they find themselves.

He described the Holy Qur’an as a divine guide for humanity, adding that those who adhere to its teachings would enjoy blessings in this world and the hereafter.

Yusuf further described the annual Musabaqa as an institution that promotes discipline, patience, perseverance and moral values among young Muslims.

He also commended parents for supporting their children’s Islamic education and praised the founder of the Ganduje Foundation and former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as his wife, Hafsat Ganduje, for sustaining the annual competition.

According to him, the initiative has continued to promote Qur’anic education and strengthen Islamic values across Kano State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Ganduje Foundation Musabaqa Committee, Rabiu Garko, thanked the deputy governor for representing the governor at the event.

Garko commended the participants for their performances and expressed confidence that contestants produced through the foundation would excel at the forthcoming National Qur’anic Recitation Competition.
