NYSC Committed To Nigeria's Progress, Development

The new Abia State coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Yunusa Tanimu, has said the NYSC is committed to the country’s progress and rapid development.

Tanimu stated this when he led a team of the NYSC in the state on a courtesy visit to the state governor, Alex Otti, in his office in Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South local government area of the state.

He lauded the governor for his infrastructure development and for other policies and projects aimed at advancing the state’s economic prosperity, peace, and stability.

His words, “I’m pleased to place on record the fact that NYSC is a beneficiary of the people-oriented strides of the Abia State Government under your purposeful leadership.

“Today, I stand here to express once again our profound gratitude for the comprehensive renovation of corps members’ hostels and multi-purpose hall at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umunna.

The coordinator, who appealed for the implementation of the state allowance approved for the corps members, added that he came to familiarise himself with the governor upon assuming office.

Responding, the governor directed the immediate removal of administrative bottlenecks delaying the implementation of the approved allowances and expressed worry over the delay.

‎”I’m surprised that the extra allowance that I approved had not been implemented,” he noted, directing the commissioner for Youth and Sports Development to take it up immediately.
