From coral beads and Edo bridal styling to coordinated Yoruba-inspired outfits, Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile and his partner, Davita Lamai, showcased two cultural influences at their traditional wedding in Lagos on Saturday, October 24.

Davita appeared in a burgundy gown decorated with red beadwork and coral necklaces, complemented by a traditional Okuku headpiece. Zlatan wore a cream outfit with red accents, coral beads and a traditional Yoruba Abẹ̀tí Ajá cap.

The couple later changed into coordinated pastel attire, with Zlatan in a mint-green agbada and Davita in a pale yellow ensemble. The change of outfits offered another expression of Yoruba tradition, adding variety to the celebration’s cultural presentation.

The couple’s choice of clothing placed traditional fashion at the centre of their wedding, reflecting how Nigerian ceremonies often incorporate distinctive attire, accessories and styles associated with cultural heritage.

Zlatan and Davita have been together for several years and share two sons. Their wedding announcement earlier this month featured a voiceover from one of their children, bringing a family element to the occasion.

Afrobeats star Davido, a close friend of Zlatan, was among the groomsmen. He also posted about the celebration on Instagram, describing it as a “Heavy weekend” for his friend.
