Yobe State Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Governor Mai Mala Buni administration to promoting a business-friendly environment that attracts investment, drives industrial growth, and creates sustainable employment opportunities across the state.

The Deputy Governor gave the assurance while presiding over the fifth meeting of the Yobe State Ease of Doing Business Council held at the Government House, Damaturu.

A statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Yobe State, Hussaini Maisuleh said Hon Gubana reiterated that the state government remains committed to implementing policies and reforms that accelerate industrialisation, promote clean energy, and strengthen the private sector as part of Governor Buni’s vision to position Yobe as a leading destination for business, innovation, and investment in Northern Nigeria and the country at large.

The Council deliberated extensively on the 2026 Business Enabling Reform Action Plan (BERAP), which is designed to improve the state’s business environment through reforms in key areas, including land administration, infrastructure, regulatory processes, and access to finance.

Members also reviewed strategies aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business by removing bottlenecks and creating a more conducive environment for investors and entrepreneurs.

The Council expressed appreciation to officials of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) for their engagement with stakeholders during the 2026 Sub-National Reform Tour in Damaturu, describing the visit as timely and beneficial to the state’s ongoing reform efforts.

The meeting resolved to carefully review the outcomes of the PEBEC town hall engagement with public institutions, the organised private sector, and other stakeholders, with a view to implementing practical recommendations that will further improve the state’s investment climate.
