‘I Borrowed Money To Live A Fake Life’ – Timini Egbuson Cautions Against Peer Pressure

Popular actor Timini Egbuson has cautioned against borrowing to maintain expensive lifestyles, advising young people to focus on meaningful investments rather than trying to impress others.

Speaking on a recent episode of the MENtality podcast, the actor admitted that he previously spent significant amounts of money collecting expensive perfumes, adding that those funds would have yielded better returns if invested in real estate.

He explained that he once owned about 150 bottles of perfume before realizing that the money used in acquiring them could have been spent purchasing land instead.

Egbuson urged individuals to examine their spending habits and evaluate whether their purchases are driven by genuine personal happiness or peer pressure.

He noted that while having luxury items like cars and watches is not inherently wrong, living beyond one’s means to impress others creates unnecessary financial strain.

Reflecting on his personal experiences, the actor disclosed that he used to borrow money to maintain a fake lifestyle to impress people, but has since changed his approach to financial management and personal contentment.
