The All Progressives Congress (APC) Integrity Group in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has asked the party’s chairman, Tanko Yamawo, to comply with the directives issued by the APC National Secretariat.
The group made the call in a statement signed by its leader, Mallam Musa Idris.
Idris said the action was prompted by disagreements within the party in the FCT and expressed concern over the possible implications for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It also called on the party’s national leadership to examine the situation in the FCT, particularly in the City Centre Ward and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
The group believes that compliance with the party’s rules and directives would ensure unity and proper management of party’s affairs.
“The authority and powers enjoyed by the state, local government and ward levels of the party are derived from the National Secretariat,” the report stated.
The group alleged that some actions by the FCT leadership had been inconsistent with directives from the National Secretariat, a development it said could contribute to disagreements among party members.
It also expressed concern about the situation in City Centre Ward, citing the ward’s strategic location and the presence of important national institutions in the area.
The group urged Yamawo to implement directives issued by the National Secretariat during the party’s 2026 congresses.
It further asked the national leadership to review party affairs in the FCT and AMAC to address the concerns raised in the report.
