The Chairperson of the Visa, Airport Reception and Protocol Committee for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Zulaiha Babagirei-Ahmad, says visa processing for visitors expected at the continental women’s golf championship has been smooth as preparations enter the final stage.
Babagirei-Ahmad said her committee was working with relevant agencies and stakeholders to coordinate visa arrangements, airport reception and protocol services for golfers, team officials and other delegates expected from about 30 African countries.
She added that arrangements were also being made to receive visitors on arrival and provide the necessary support during their stay in Nigeria.
The championship will hold from 2 to 7 November at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, under the slogan, ‘Uniting Africa Through the Greens’.
The 2026 edition will be Nigeria’s third time hosting the tournament, following the 1996 championship at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and the 2010 edition at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.
The organising committee is coordinating arrangements ahead of the arrival of participating countries, with visa facilitation and airport reception among the key areas of preparation.
The tournament is expected to bring together female golfers from across the continent for a week of competition in Abuja.
