Two suspected cases of Ebola disease have been identified in Nigeria’s North-East region, with both individuals isolated as health authorities conduct laboratory tests to determine their status.
A stated sighted by Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) noted that contact identification and listing are also ongoing as part of efforts to assess potential exposure and prevent possible transmission.
However, the individuals have not been confirmed to have Ebola, as their status remains subject to laboratory test results.
The public has been advised to maintain good hand hygiene, practise enhanced sanitation and adhere to guidance issued by public health authorities.
Further updates are expected as verified information becomes available.
