Ahead of the February 25 presidential election, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has revealed ongoing talks with the candidates of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and that of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, for possible alliance or seek their support in the election.

Atiku disclosed this in an interview with BBC Hausa Service monitored by our correspondent on Tuesday.

He, however, said both Obi and Kwankwaso were no threat to his chances of winning the February 25 poll he but needed their support to make his winning chances brighter.

“Although, I see no threat in any of them but we are in talks, and the discussion might yield a positive result that will see one of them coming,” Atiku disclosed.

On the crisis rocking the PDP, Atiku said each party has its internal crisis and his party was not an exemption, assuring that they were working assidiously at resolving every difference in the shortest time possible.

“Each party has its internal crisis, we are still talking with them. Most are neither in PDP nor in other parties and definitely that will not make us lose the election because we are okay with the election preparations for now.

“Election now is not like in the past when a governor will dictate who to vote for, election today is in the hands of the voters,” Atiku added.
