Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has directed that all indigenous students studying in various tertiary institutions across the country be transported back home free of charge in order to participate in the forthcoming general elections.

This directive is coming as the National Universities Commission (NUC) has ordered the closure of schools ahead of the general elections on February 25 and March 11, 2023.

In furtherance to this, Hon Farouq Mustapha, who is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring easy and smooth conveyance of the students, has begun the process of transporting them back home.

In a statement, the special assistant to the governor on student affairs, Hamza Mohammed Maikudi and the deputy director, contact and mobilisation, student affairs in the state PDP Campaign Council, Sani Adamu, appreciated the kind gesture.

They explained that the development will go a long way in encouraging the indigenous students to return home and cast their ballot wisely in the upcoming elections.
