AA LEADERSHIP Crisis: Appeal Court Set to Hear Udeze’s Suit

The Akure Division of the Court of Appeal is set to hear an application filed by the Kenneth Udeze-led leadership of Action Alliance (AA), in the latest twist to the party’s fractured leadership crisis.

The application seeks the withdrawal of motion No: CA/AK/268M/2025 and motion No: CA/AK/309M/2025 because pursuing the motions would serve no practical purpose.

The legal dispute followed a judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State on 29th September, 2025, in Suit No: FHC/OS/CS/34/2025, which reportedly favoured Chief Adekunle Rufai Omoaje.

However, the national secretary of the party, Vernimbe James, said there were several subsisting judgments of the Court of Appeal recognising Udeze as the authentic national chairman of the party.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, James said the public and media were aware of a pending appeal before the Supreme Court in Appeal No: SC/CV/162/2024 between Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and others versus Chief Uzewuru Nwachukwu and others.

He noted that the appeal arose from an earlier judgment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal delivered on 26 January 2024.

According to him, the Court of Appeal judgments had affirmed Udeze as the lawful National Chairman of the party and remained binding until set aside by a higher court.

He argued that, by the hierarchy of courts, the Federal High Court judgment delivered in Osogbo could not override existing appellate court decisions recognising UUdezeUdeze ‘sership Test proceedings at the Court of Appeal, which are expected to determine the next phase of the leadership battle within Action Alliance, which multiple court cases and rival claims to the chairmanship have marked.
