The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, have successfully scaled the screening process of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

The screening, conducted by the ruling party on Sunday Iin Abuja, came barely 24 hours after Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, were also cleared by the party panel.

Abbas and Kalu arrived at the Treasures Suites and Conferences Hotel venue of the exercise to loud cheers from party officials, supporters and loyalists as they submitted their completed nomination forms.

The development signalled the conclusion of the APC’s screening exercise for aspirants seeking the party’s tickets ahead of the next general election.
