Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Abbas Tajudeen, has described the demise of the Walin Zazzau, Aminu Umar, as a sad development.
Abbas said he was shocked to receive the news of the death of Umar, who was also the district head of Ikara.
In a condolence message issued through his special adviser on media and publicity, Musa Krishi, the speaker said the Zazzau Emirate has lost one of its most respected elder statesmen.
The late Walin Zazzau, who was a prince of the emirate from the Barebari ruling house, died on Saturday.
He was a onetime chief executive officer of the Kaduna State Water Board, where he served the state diligently. As Walin Zazzau, he was one of the most senior titleholders in the emirate.
He participated in the Hawan Daushe sallah durbar in Zaria on Friday and was one of the district heads who paid Sallah homage to the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
The speaker sent his condolences to the Emir of Zazzau, the people and government of Kaduna State over the irreparable loss.
Abbas also prayed to Allah to grant the late Walin Zazzau Jannatul Firdaus and give the entire Zazzau Emirate, especially his immediate family as well as the Barebari ruling house, the fortitude to bear the loss.
