The party expressed its sadness in a statement by the state chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu in reaction to the Wednesday attack which claimed the lives of five personnel of the Nigeria Army.

The statement regretted the loss of the lives of the soldiers cut short in such a dastardly manner while they were on lawful duty of providing security for the society.

“While we join the Nigerian Army and families of the deceased personnel in mourning their death, we pray the Almighty God to grant their souls eternal rest.

“We’re also in full support of the security agencies to do the needful by apprehending and prosecuting the attackers accordingly to serve as deterrent to others,” the party said.

The statement also urged the security agencies to be thorough and diligent in their investigations to avoid arresting and prosecuting innocent persons.

“We, therefore, appeal for the cooperation and total support of the people to the security agencies to root out the criminals. With the presence of criminals, the society is unsafe,” the statement added.
