The member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Amaobi Ogah, has empowered his constituents with items worth N1 billion.

At the event tagged, “Constituency briefing/ uncommon mega empowerment” at Umuaku Uturu, Isuikwuato local government, Abia State governor, Governor Alex Otti said the programme aligned with his agenda for the state.

Represented by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Kenneth Kalu, he lauded Ogah for embarking on the project which he argued would have positive impacts on the beneficiaries.

His word, “What you’re doing is what leadership should be all about. That is what representation is all about. The Almighty God, who gave you the grace to do this will continue to sustain you.”

In his remarks, the member representing Bichi federal constituency, Kano State and the House Committee chairman on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar lauded Ogah for the programme.

Represented by his colleague for Uyo federal constituency, Akwa Ibom State, Kabir Abubakar said only few politicians could do what Ogah had done in such programme and infrastructure projects.

Their Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala South federal constituency colleague, Ginger Onwusibe, and the state Labour Party chairman, Emmanuel Otti, commended Ogah for the programme.

In his speech, the convener said the event was part of the programmes lined up to mark his second anniversary at the National Assembly and to brief the constituents on his stewardship.

He noted. “We must come in to work together to redefine the essence of governance by demanding accountability and transparency thereby, ensuring that public trust is not abused.

“I make a point to say that I have represented you with the greatest responsibility, honor, and integrity. I have facilitated tremendous infrastructure developments in the constituency.”

Assuring that by the grace of God and with the support of the people he would do more in future, he urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them for the purpose they were meant.

In their separate responses, some of the beneficiaries, Simeon Ndubuisi, Ugonma Nwachukwu, and Njideka Obasi said the programme speaks to Ogah’s quality representation.

The items include sienna cars, mini buses, tricycles, grinding and sewing machines, motorcycles, and refrigerators.
