Traditional rulers in Abia Central District have undergone a two-day training on peace and conflict resolution/capacity building facilitated by Senator Austin Akobundu.

At the clinic in Umuahia, the capital, the consultant, Chichi Umuseaka of Vox Dei Consult, called for the strengthening of the traditional institution through dialogue.

She underscored the need for stakeholders’ meeting between the traditional rulers and the police for proper collaboration in maintaining peace in the district.

In an address, the state’s commissioner of police, Danladi Isa, represented by DSP Chekwas Daniel, said peace and conflict management was a collective business.

Similarly, the facilitator and an erstwhile minister of state for defence, explained that the clinic was aimed at promotion of Igbo traditional norms and values.
