With just twelve days to go until the opening ceremony, organisers of the 3rd National Para Games, Abuja 2026, have confirmed that all competition venues across the Federal Capital Territory are fully prepared to welcome athletes from around the nation.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) announced that the majority of events will be staged at the iconic Moshood Abiola National Stadium, which will serve as the central hub for the Games.
Within the expansive stadium complex, a wide array of competitions will take place. The Main Bowl will host Para Athletics, while the indoor facilities in Packages A and B are set to accommodate Para Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Para Taekwondo, Para Table Tennis, Para Badminton, and Wheelchair Tennis.
Further specialised facilities within the stadium precinct will also be utilised. The Swimming Pool Complex is designated for Para Swimming, with the Velodrome hosting both Para Cycling and Para Karate. Para Shooting events are scheduled to take place at the stadium’s dedicated shooting range.
Beyond the main stadium, additional venues have been allocated for specific disciplines. Jabi Lake will provide the scenic backdrop for Para Canoeing, and Amputee Football will be contested at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch.
The 3rd National Para Games Abuja 2026 is expected to draw thousands of athletes representing Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Organisers have stated that the Games will not only celebrate resilience, excellence, and inclusivity but will also serve as a vital platform for discovering new talents and bolstering Nigeria’s standing in global para-sports.
