Abuja Continental Excels At International Tourism Expo Fair

The International Hospitality & Tourism Expo and Forum (IHTEF) dubbed Abuja Hotel Expo, has boosted skills development, workforce empowerment, and sustainable practices within the country’s  hospitality industry.

At the event, Abuja Continental emerged the  exceptional Housekeeping hotel  in  the prestigious Bed-Making Challenge competition  organised  by  International Hospitality & Tourism Expo and Forum (IHTEF).

The executive director of IHTEF Secretariat, Chibuikem Diala, said, the bed making competition award was instituted to promote skills development, workforce empowerment, and sustainable practices within the hospitality industry, and to spotlight frontline talent and honour the vital role of housekeeping.

 

He said Akpa David Chinonso of Abuja Continental Hotel was awarded the prize for demonstrating exceptional skill, precision, and professionalism in the highly competitive field.

Responding to the iconic recognition, general manager of Abuja Continental, Kevin Brett, said, the team’s win is a testament to the hotel’s unwavering commitment to excellence and sustainability in the hospitality sector.

 

He said Chinonso is a dedicated member of the Abuja Continental Housekeeping team whose emergence in the highly competitive Bed-Making Challenge, securing first place amidst fierce competition from hospitality professionals across Nigeria is a source of joy and prestige to the hotel .

 

‘We are incredibly proud of David and the entire Housekeeping team for this outstanding achievement,’ Brett said. The IHTEF Conference, he noted, serves as a cornerstone for promoting advocacy for excellence, sustainability, and innovation within Africa’s hospitality sector.

 

According to him., the Bed-Making Competition, which forms a core part of the event, is designed to recognise the finest in-housekeeping skills while fostering a spirit of creativity, quality, and professionalism among Africa’s leading hospitality establishments.

 

The GM noted that the recognition comes at a significant time when the hospitality industry is evolving and striving towards more sustainable and innovative practices. Abuja Continental remains at the forefront of these developments, with its Housekeeping team leading the way.

 

He reiterated that the hotel’s commitment to excellence and sustainability is evident in its Housekeeping team’s achievement adding that Abuja Continental will undoubtedly remain the Signature of African Hospitality, known for its peculiar services in the industry.
