Abuja will take centre stage as the Federal Capital Territory hosts the Abuja Youth Talent Hunt, an ambitious entrepreneurship showcase offering over 6 million in cash prizes alongside mentorship, training and investment opportunities for young innovators.
The programme, which is organised by Abuja Investments Company Limited in partnership with the Abuja Enterprise Agency, is scheduled to hold next week. It equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and resources to turn their business ideas into viable enterprises.
According to the organisers, the competition, targeted at Nigerians aged 18 to 35, will focus on three key sectors: Information Technology, Agriculture, and Creative Enterprise.
Participants will undergo intensive business plan training, pitch presentation coaching, and one-on-one mentorship from seasoned investors and industry leaders.
Cash prizes of N1,000,000, N750,000 and N500,000 will be awarded to winners in each category, with additional access to investment funds and credit facilities worth millions. The five-phase programme runs from August 20 to September 24, 2025, beginning with a nationwide call for entries and culminating in a live Grand Finale where finalists will pitch before a panel of expert judges. Post-event, participants will continue to receive monitoring, networking and support to ensure business sustainability.
“The initiative is not merely a contest but a capacity-building platform aimed at addressing major challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in Nigeria, particularly access to finance and market opportunities. With Abuja ranked first in ease of starting a business in the country, the city provides a fitting backdrop for an event expected to drive innovation, create jobs and contribute to the nation’s economic growth,’’ the organisers said.
