As widespread condemnation continues to trail federal government’s clampdown on the #EndBadGovernance protesters for alleged treason, a call has been made to President Bola Tinubu to order the unconditional release of over 2,000 persons still detained for their alleged involvement in the nationwide protest.

A social crusader, Citizen Donald Nwaneri who made the call at the weekend in an open letter to President Tinubu, demanded the immediate release or arraignment of all the detainees in the court without any further delay.

Nwaneri who observed that only 10 detained protesters were arraigned in an Abuja High Court, one month after their arrest, noted that one Chukwudi Opara, an Abuja-based businessman and several others were still languishing in detention facilities of police and the DSS across the country.

He also remarked that besides, a British national, Andrew Martin Wynne; other Nigerians: Lucky Ehis Obiyan, Obiajunwa Nnaemeka Peter, Nwachukwu Justin Ikedi and Abdullahi Musa are currently on ‘police watchlist’ for treason as a result of their alleged involvement in the protest.
