The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed what it calls a fake and malicious insinuation that its 2023 governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani, has been suspended.

The state publicity secretary of the party, Mohammed Abdullahi, said in a press Statement on Thursday that the story that the Yola South local government chapter of the party suspended Binani is a mischievous attempt to cause confusion in the party.

“Our findings revealed that the story is orchestrated by those who are not happy with the current efforts of our leader, Mall Nuhu Ribadu (NSA) and Comrade Mustapha Salihu (national vice chairman, North East) in resolving all issues and uniting the party in the state.

“A written confirmation has been received from Yola South local government area that they didn’t suspend Sen Binani, rendering the planted story fake and mischievous,” the scribe said.

The party said that, on behalf of Nuhu Ribadu and Mustapha Salihu, the state leadership of the APC under Barr Idris Shuaibu (chairman) confirms that Senator Binani remains a bonafide member and one of the critical stakeholders of the party in the state.

It added that the national vice chairman, North East (Mustapha Salihu), has directed that a discreet investigation be launched to find out those behind the planting of the fake story for serious disciplinary action.
