The Adamawa State Government has distributed over 67,000 core subject textbooks to public schools across the 21 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to improve the quality of education.

The distribution exercise was carried out by the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Pella, on behalf of the state government.

Speaking during the exercise, the commissioner said the initiative reflects the commitment of the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to strengthening the education sector and enhancing human capital development in the state.

He noted that the Fintiri administration is investing heavily in education to ensure that students in public schools have access to essential learning materials needed to improve academic performance.

Dr. Pella explained that the textbooks cover core subjects and will be distributed to public schools across the state to support effective teaching and learning.

The commissioner, however, warned school principals and administrators against any attempt to sabotage the exercise through diversion, hoarding, or unauthorized sale of the textbooks.

He stressed that the books are government property meant strictly for the use of students in public schools, adding that strict monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.

Dr. Pella further cautioned that any principal or school official found engaging in acts that undermine the distribution process would face appropriate disciplinary action.

The distribution of the textbooks is part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve educational standards and equip students with the necessary tools to succeed academically.
