The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed Barrister Hudu Yunusa as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State.
Hudu replaced Barrister Ibrahim Gaidam who has been transferred to INEC headquarters, after serving two terms as REC in the state.
The new REC during interaction with newsmen yesterday said the commission had taken delivery of 4,104 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) machines for the conduct of the 2023 general elections.
The BIVAS which replaced the card reader machines used in the last elections, would man 4,104 polling units in the state.
He said the BIVAS machines when configured, would give voters access to polling units and accreditation and to be used for transmitting election results.
He said they had recruited 10,805 ad-hoc staff.
