The Adamawa State Government has officially approved the establishment of a Pharmacy Consultancy Cadre in the state civil service, marking a landmark step in strengthening pharmaceutical services and healthcare delivery.

The approval, communicated in a circular dated 10th February 2026, underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the professional structure of pharmacy practice within the state health system. The new Consultancy Cadre is expected to improve career progression for pharmacists, raise service standards, and align the state’s healthcare workforce with national best practices.

Stakeholders across the health sector have welcomed the development, describing it as a progressive recognition of the critical role pharmacists play in patient care, drug management, and public health initiatives.

Special commendation was given to the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Zirra Mathias Bubanani, whose leadership and professional advocacy have been pivotal in advancing pharmaceutical practice in Adamawa State. His dedication continues to drive reforms that benefit both health professionals and citizens.
