ADC Alleges Political Motive In Ongoing Prosecution Of Malami, El-Rufai

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged that the ongoing prosecutions of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, are politically motivated.

The Assistant National Youth Leader (North Central) of the party, Hajiya Hassana Shuaibu Dada, made the allegation in a statement shared by former presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, on her X handle, @Laurestar.

Dada condemned what she described as selective prosecutions allegedly orchestrated through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claiming the actions were aimed at weakening the ADC.

According to her, the anti-graft agency’s move against the former officials was designed to undermine the party because it poses a real challenge to the ruling party.

“These actions are politically motivated attempts to weaken the ADC because we pose a real challenge to the ruling party,” she said.

The ADC youth leader expressed solidarity with Malami, El-Rufai and other members of the party across the country, insisting that the party would not be intimidated.

“These efforts will not intimidate us; they will only strengthen our unity and resolve. The ADC remains committed to justice, inclusion and national renewal,” Dada stated.

She urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue supporting the ADC, describing it as a credible alternative for good governance and national progress.
