The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled its timetable for the conduct of its 2026 primary elections, outlining key dates for the nomination, screening, and emergence of candidates across all elective positions.

According to the schedule released by the national publicity secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdulkahi , the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while the submission of completed forms is slated for May 11 to May 13, 2026.

The party fixed May 14 to May 15 for the screening of aspirants, with the publication of screening results expected on May 17.

Appeals arising from the screening exercise will be entertained between May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20.

Primary elections are scheduled to commence on May 21, with contests for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats to be conducted simultaneously at the ward level.

Governorship primaries will follow on May 22, while the presidential primary has been fixed for May 25, 2026.

The process will culminate in a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications of candidates are expected to take place.

The ADC also approved nomination fees for aspirants seeking elective offices. The presidential form is pegged at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.

However, the party introduced concessions aimed at broadening participation, granting a 50 percent discount on nomination fees for youths, and a 25 percent reduction for women and persons with disabilities.

The party urged its members, stakeholders, and aspirants to comply with the outlined timetable and guidelines.
