Adeboye To Attend NNL AGM In Owerri

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Prince Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has confirmed that he will attend the Nigeria National League (NNL) Annual General Meeting in Owerri, Imo State, on Friday.

The AGM is expected to be declared open by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Gusau, and other prominent figures in Nigerian football also in attendance.

Adeboye, who is the president of NNL club Smart City FC, said his decision to attend the meeting was in recognition of the progress made by the current NNL board, chaired by George Aluo.

“I want to tell you that I will be in Owerri on Friday to attend the NNL AGM in support of what the present board, under the able leadership of Mr George Aluo, has done to reposition the league,” Adeboye said.
He praised the board for introducing innovations that have improved the profile of the second-tier competition and attracted greater interest from sponsors and football stakeholders.

“You’re aware that because of the innovations brought to the league, it has now attracted sponsors and is getting commendations from all football stakeholders.

“I believe they are going to consolidate on the successes recorded so far and move the most important league in the country to a greater pedestal in the new season.”

Adeboye also commended Governor Uzodimma for agreeing to host the AGM, describing him as a sports-loving leader.

He further praised Aluo for his efforts to reposition the NNL and expressed optimism that the league would build on its recent progress in the coming season.
