Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has commended President Bola Tinubu for making history a compulsory subject in schools, which will bridge a significant gap in the nation’s academic pursuits.
The governor who made the commendation at the weekend during a book launch to mark the 15th coronation anniversary of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye II charged Nigerian leaders to pen significant events in their lives for future generations to read and learn.

Apparently moved by the documentation of the monarch’s life attainments, Adeleke promised to unveil his biography during his next birthday, adding that the culture of writing biographies and autobiographies should be encouraged as part of a contribution to scholarship.

“Leaders and top officials across the society should therefore author a book about their lives. We must conserve and preserve our human history for future generations. My Spokesperson is already working on a biography to be unveiled during my birthday in 2026.

“The goal is to allow the citizens of today and tomorrow to read about the leader’s mindset, hopes and aspirations, challenges and successes.

Biography and autobiography put readers inside the lives of leaders’ successes and setbacks.’’
