Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman has expressed his gratitude and pride in being recognized as Africa’s best player, an accolade he received last December in Marrakech, Morocco. The talented athlete was celebrated for his exceptional performances on the continental stage, a moment he cherishes deeply.

In a recent interview with NFF TV, Lookman shared his thoughts on this prestigious honor, stating, “It’s a blessing, it’s a pleasure, and most definitely an honour, to be among the people here who have won the award, like my teammate last year, Osimhen, my brother.”

His words reflect not only his personal achievement but also the camaraderie he shares with fellow Nigerian players.

Lookman’s recognition comes at a time when he is focused on representing Nigeria in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

As he trains with the squad, he remains committed to contributing to his nation’s success on the international stage.

The winger’s journey from being crowned the continent’s best player to participating in crucial qualifiers showcases the rising talent in African football. With Victor Osimhen winning the award in 2024, Nigeria continues to shine, and Lookman’s reflections serve as a reminder of the rich football heritage in the country.
