The Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Security and Internal Affairs, Joseph Har, has blamed the current insecurity in the state to the errors in policy formulation made by previous government but assured that the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia was taking proactive steps to correct the errors.

Har made this known during a one-day training for staff and partners of the state Peace and Reconciliation Commission by the Elohim Development Foundation in collaboration with the Karuna Centre for Peace Building and Neem Foundation.

Declaring the training open, the security adviser said the training on Reflective Structure Dialogue approach will help in bridging divides of security at work places, homes and in communities in the state, describing the gesture as apt even as he urged all and sundry to be vigilant.

He said, “The need for peace and development has continued to stimulate efforts from government, Civil Society organisations, and the private sector to resolve conflicts and manage crises.”

The Director General, Benue State Commission for Peace and Reconciliation Josephine Habba, who was represented by Iorwuese Yaasa, reiterated the commitment of the commission to partner development partners in peace building and conflicts management for development to thrive in the state.
